Building in the Northern Rivers requires more than standard construction methods. High humidity and subtropical conditions demand a deeper understanding of airflow, moisture control, and material performance.

Billington Projects specialises in homes that respond to these conditions—reducing the risk of mould, improving comfort, and creating spaces that support everyday living.

Approaching your home the same way we do ours.

At Billington Projects, founder and director Jesse Billington brings almost 30 years of experience in the construction of high-end, architecturally designed homes.

Jesse’s approach to healthier building blends mindful minimalism, aesthetics, and what he calls ‘common sense building’—smart, passive design principles that work with nature.

When Jesse’s 7-year-old daughter fell severely ill due to mould exposure, his passion for building evolved.

Determined to understand how homes affect health, Jesse dove deep into building biology and trained with leading experts in mould prevention and healthier homes.

This journey deepened his dedication to the healthier building movement that is transforming the Australian construction industry.

Build it right, and it will take care of you

We believe homes should support the health of the people who live in them—physically, mentally, and environmentally.

That doesn’t mean overcomplicating things. With the right knowledge and approach, it’s possible to build a high-performing, healthy home without unnecessary cost or complexity.
